‘Ka mua, ka muri’ is a whakataukī (Māori proverb) that translates to ‘walking backwards into the future’. The objective of the t-shirt was for staff to wear it and embrace the notion that change has always taken place at Otago Polytechnic. The brand has been evolving since 1966 and the rebrand to Te Pūkenga was another step in the journey.
